Detailed Itinerary
06:30 AM – Pickup from Decathlon Thrissur
Meet the community at Decathlon Thrissur and begin the journey together towards Peechi–Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary.
07:30 AM – Arrive at Peechi Wildlife Sanctuary
Reach Peechi and get ready for the day’s trekking experience.
07:45 AM – Breakfast
Have breakfast before starting the trek.
08:15 AM – Trek Briefing & Trek Begins
After a short safety briefing by the forest guides and KeralaTrekking coordinators, begin the guided trek to Moodalmala Peak through the scenic trails of Peechi–Vazhani Wildlife Sanctuary.
02:30 PM – Lunch
Enjoy a well-deserved lunch after completing the trek.
03:30 PM – Bowl Boating & Peechi Dam Visit
Those interested can enjoy an optional bowl boating experience and spend some time around Peechi Dam. Bowl boating is not included in the participant contribution and costs ₹125 per person (optional).
04:30 PM – Coffee with the Community (Self-Sponsored)
Wind down over coffee, meet fellow trekkers, and share stories from the trail.
05:30 PM – Return Journey
Start the return journey to Thrissur.
06:30 PM – Reach Decathlon Thrissur
Arrive back at Decathlon Thrissur, marking the end of our Community Trek.

FAQs
What is the total participant contribution?
The trek ticket is ₹800 per person. Transportation from Decathlon Thrissur to Peechi and back will be charged separately based on the actual vehicle cost and the final number of participants.
Is this a regular KeralaTrekking package?
No. This is a Community Trek organised by KeralaTrekking in collaboration with Decathlon Thrissur. It is conducted on a shared-cost, no-organiser-profit basis.
Where should I report?
All participants must report at Decathlon Thrissur by 6:30 AM. Participants should arrange their own transportation to reach Decathlon Thrissur.
Is transportation to Peechi arranged?
Yes. Group transportation will be arranged from Decathlon Thrissur to Peechi and back to Decathlon Thrissur. The actual transportation cost will be shared among participants.
Are breakfast and lunch included?
Yes. Breakfast and lunch are included in the ₹800 trek ticket
How difficult is the trek?
The approximately 12 km Peechi–Moodalmala trek is rated easy to moderate. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
Is this suitable for first-time trekkers?
Yes. Beginners can join, provided they are comfortable walking approximately 12 km on forest and hill trails.
Is bowl boating included?
No. Bowl boating at Peechi Dam is optional and currently costs ₹125 per person.
What should I carry?
Carry sufficient water, comfortable trekking shoes, a small backpack, rain protection, personal medication, and a change of clothes if required.
What happens if the trek is affected by weather or Forest Department restrictions?
The itinerary and timings may change depending on weather, trail conditions, Forest Department instructions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Any unavoidable additional expenses arising from such situations are not included in the participant contribution.
Can I consume or carry alcohol during the trek?
No. Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited throughout the trip. Participants violating this rule may be removed from the group without a refund.
What time will we return?
The expected return to Decathlon Thrissur is around 6:30 PM, but the actual arrival time may vary depending on trekking pace, traffic, weather, Forest Department procedures, and other conditions.
Can I reach Peechi directly instead of joining from Decathlon Thrissur?
Yes. Participants who prefer to travel on their own can reach Peechi directly and join the group there. Please inform the KeralaTrekking team in advance so we can coordinate the meeting point and reporting time.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy
The ₹800 trek ticket amount is non-refundable once the registration/ticket is confirmed.
- Registration may be transferred to a friend or family member, subject to prior approval and Forest Department rules/permissions.
- Shared transportation charges, once the vehicle is confirmed and costs are committed, may also be non-refundable.
- Participants who choose to reach Peechi directly will not be charged the shared transportation cost.
- If the trek cannot proceed due to weather conditions, Forest Department restrictions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances, KeralaTrekking will communicate the available options based on the applicable Forest Department and service-provider policies.
- Any additional expenses resulting from delays, route changes, emergencies, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances will be borne by the participant.
- KeralaTrekking reserves the right to modify the itinerary, timings, transportation arrangements, or schedule when required for safety or operational reasons.
