In a tragic incident, Dr. Ajzal A. Sain, a 26-year-old doctor from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, passed away on Sunday after completing a trek at the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR) in Tamil Nadu.

What Happened?

Dr. Sain, along with his friend Fadil Thayyib Raj, had registered for a trek covering the Top Slip – Pandaravarai – Karian Shola – Top Slip route. The duo was accompanied by two experienced guides from ATR.

According to officials, the guides noticed signs of fatigue in Dr. Sain during the trek and advised caution. However, he reportedly insisted he was fit to continue. The group completed the trek and returned to Top Slip around 4:30 PM.

Shortly after resting, Dr. Sain collapsed and his condition deteriorated rapidly. He was rushed to the government hospital in Vettaikaranpudur, where he was declared dead. The cause is suspected to be dehydration and related complications.

ATR Authorities Respond

ATR officials confirmed that a post-mortem will be conducted and Dr. Sain’s family has been notified. The family has also lodged a complaint with the Anamalai police.
